Lullabook ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Hero profile data: child's name (or chosen hero name), age, pronouns, and art style preference
- Photos: a photo of your child uploaded to generate the hero illustration
- Email address: if you create an account or join our waitlist
- Adventure preferences: themes, locations, goals, and companions you select for stories
Information collected automatically
- Device information: device type, operating system, app version
- Usage data: which features you use, time spent in the app, story completions
- Subscription information: subscription status, purchase history (via RevenueCat)
- Analytics: anonymous usage patterns to improve the product
2. How we use your information
- To generate personalized bedtime stories featuring your child as the hero
- To save your stories for later viewing
- To improve the app and develop new features
- To manage your subscription and process payments
- To send you launch notifications (only if you joined our waitlist)
- To respond to your support requests
3. Photos and AI generation
When you upload a photo of your child, it is processed by AI services (RunningHub) to generate the hero character illustration. These services process the image temporarily and do not retain it after generation. The resulting hero illustration is stored in your private account.
Original photos are automatically deleted within 24 hours of upload. We do not use your child's photos to train AI models, share them publicly, or use them for marketing purposes.
4. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to provide Lullabook:
- Firebase (Google): authentication, data storage, cloud functions
- RevenueCat: subscription management
- RunningHub: AI image generation
- OpenAI: story text generation and content moderation
- ElevenLabs: audio narration generation
- Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel: anonymous usage analytics
- Sentry: crash reporting
Each service has its own privacy policy. We select services that meet industry security standards.
5. Data storage and security
Your data is stored on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure. We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Photos and story assets are stored in private buckets accessible only to your account.
6. Children's privacy
Lullabook is designed for parents to create stories for their children ages 3–8. The app is intended to be used by parents, not directly by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@lullabook.app and we will remove it promptly.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Export your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

8. Data retention
We retain your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., transaction records for tax purposes). Original photos are deleted within 24 hours regardless of account status.
9. International transfers
Lullabook operates globally. Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place per GDPR Article 46.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of Lullabook after changes constitutes acceptance.
